about the line: The Sahar Dada line is a reflection of Sahar’s multi-cultural upbringing and her ability to fuse those influences to create delicately designed and hand crafted womenswear, ranging from ready-to-wear dresses and separates to hand embellished gowns.  Each piece embodies femininity to its core, draping the body with luxurious hand-dyed pure silks and chiffons hand-embellished with antique gold threads.  The Sahar Dada woman isn’t to be lost in a crowd, she is to stand out and be adored.

about the designer: Sahar Dada, got her first exposure to designing, as a young girl watching her mother design and oversee the production of traditional Pakistani womenswear.  Spending her summers abroad, trips to the ‘bazaar’ soon turned into navigating through crowded markets, sourcing materials and negotiating with vendors on her own.  These experiences led Sahar to pursue design and receive her training at the Illinois Institute of Art – Chicago.  Soon after Sahar was selected to represent Lahore, Pakistan in the 2009 World Fashion Chicago Show, hosted by the city of Chicago as a part of its Sister Cities Program.   After taking part in the show Sahar began designing her first collection and held a residency as an Associate Designer at Macy’s Chicago Fashion Incubator in 2011 & 2012.  During the residency Sahar began working towards building her clientele and currently oversees a production team, hosts numerous trunk shows and designs custom womenswear for her global clientele. Being featured in Refinery 29, curated by the International Womens Museum in San Francisco, California and taking part in Art Basel Miami are humbling experiences that have helped shape the way Sahar approaches her designs.

“For me there is nothing more rewarding than knowing that someone chose one of my designs because they felt a connection to it.  Being a part of that experience, is why I do it.”
